KB Asset Management, South Korea
Jaemin Cho is the Chief Executive Officer of KB Asset Management, the 3rd largest asset
management company in South Korea. It is his second time serving as the CEO
of KB Asset Management. His first term was from 2009 to 2013.
He started his career in 1989 at Citibank Seoul, where he held a variety of positions in
Korean capital market. Then he moved to Hong Kong in 1996 to join Credit Agricole
Indosuez to work at the emerging market fixed income desk.
Afterwards, he served as head of Asian fixed income desk in the Hong Kong office
of Standard Bank London.
After 10 years of banking career, he moved to the asset management industry and he
co-founded Midas Asset Management in 1999 where he managed the company as the CEO.
From 2009 he joined KB Group to take up the position of CEO at KB Asset Management.
At KB Asset Management, he newly built extensive line-ups of fund products in Equity,
ETF, Infra fund, NPL and PE.
After 5 years at KB Asset Management, he moved to lead KTB Asset Management for three
years, and finally came back to manage KB Asset Management from January 2017.
Jaemin graduated from Seoul National University with a B.A. in business and earned an
MBA from New York University.
